Selena Gomez Has the Coziest Take on the Office-Siren Trend;
Selena Gomez’s style is all about the classics these days, and that includes carrying forward the fashion rules from one of America’s most timeless style icons, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. For the beauty brand Rare Beauty’s event on October 8, the brand’s founder recreated one of the former first lady’s favorite outfit formulas: white pants and a simple black top that prioritizes comfort while remaining business-appropriate.
Jackie O was famous for her phlegmatic yet trendy style, and one of her favorite tricks was to turn upside down the basic “black pants and a white top” formula, usually accessorized with some kind of chunky gold jewelry.
Gomez, for the above-mentioned event here, did the same, just an updated version for 2024. The actor-singer-entrepreneur wore a black halter bodysuit, roomy white trousers, and a gold-studded statement belt from Khaite, which she paired with gold Jennifer Fisher rings, cuff, and hoop earrings. Gomez wore her hair parted to the side in loose curls, kept her makeup classic, and opted for a nude manicure that any first lady would approve of.
White pants notwithstanding, Selena Gomez’s all-time favorite color recently has been black. The actor wore black halter dresses to the Emmys and the premieres of Emilia Perez and Only Murders in the Building season four, and her off-duty looks have paired her jeans with black blouses and blazers.
